Add-on for COD, on request
System documentation with AI that never leaves your premises
Knowledge about your systems lives in people's heads, old tickets, and scattered files. InfoScan collects data from your Linux servers and uses a local AI to draft your system documentation and suggest dependencies. Your administrator decides what gets adopted.
At a glance
- Covers Linux servers over SSH today.
- Runs locally on an AIMcompute server with GPU, without a cloud.
- Delivers drafts for your documentation and suggested dependencies.
- Your administrator decides what gets adopted.
Sound familiar?
Documentation lags behind
Servers are set up, changed, and moved. The documentation rarely keeps up. When something breaks, the team searches wikis, tickets, and chats for the current state.
Nobody knows all the dependencies
Which service depends on which server? Often only one person knows. When a system fails or a change is due, exactly this knowledge is missing.
No time for documentation
Documentation is on every list and still comes last. Operations come first, and the knowledge stays in people's heads.
How InfoScan works
Four steps, and in the end a person decides.
Collect
InfoScan signs in to the Linux server over SSH and reads what the documentation needs: structure, services, open ports, installed software, accounts and groups, and the connections to other systems.
Analyze locally
A language model analyzes the data on your premises. No AI service on the internet is involved.
Suggest
The data turns into drafts for your system documentation and suggestions about which systems depend on each other.
Review and adopt
Your administrator goes through the suggestions and decides what is adopted. You stay in control of the content.
Local, on your premises
- Local, not cloud. InfoScan runs entirely in your infrastructure. No data is transferred to a cloud.
- No credentials in COD. The credentials for the scan are stored only on the AIMcompute server that runs InfoScan on your premises. COD itself stores no credentials for it.
- Your own computing power. The language model runs on an AIMcompute server with GPU in your data center. It is required for InfoScan. We work out the hardware you need together with you when you get in touch.
- A person decides. Your administrator decides what gets adopted.
What you gain
Knowledge you can find
The technical state of your servers is documented and easy to find.
Visible dependencies
You see which systems depend on each other before you change or switch off anything.
Less effort
InfoScan writes the first draft. Your team reviews and adds to it instead of starting from scratch.
An AI budget with tangible benefit
Have you set aside a budget for AI, and are you looking for a use that makes a difference in daily work? InfoScan helps with a task that often gets put off: system documentation. The AI runs on your premises, without a cloud.
Available today, deeper COD integration next
InfoScan is available today as an add-on. Next, we want to integrate it more deeply into COD. Documents and dependencies are meant to appear right on the asset, in the “Documents” and “Dependencies” tabs. The “Dependencies” tab already exists, and today you maintain dependencies there by hand. This plan is on our roadmap and is not a commitment.
